Obituary of Jérôme Benjamin ‘Jerry’ Simondet

Simondet, 91-year-old Jerome Benjamin “Jerry” of Burnsville, MN, passed away March 3, 2022, ready to resume his new life with his precious wife, Marlene, who died May 3, 2014. Jerry met Marlene when they both attended Minneapolis Central High School in 1947. God blessed this wonderful marriage union of 62 years with 12 children: Rebecca (Brad) Stone, Deborah (Mike) Hogan, Kevin (Karen) Romain-Simondet, Jeff (Greta ) Simondet, Theresa (Dale) Ohme, Victoria Simondet Pechan (James), Brian (Terrianne) Simondet, Vincent (Georgia) Simondet, Christopher (Barbara) Simondet, Jennifer (Tony) Taschner, Cynthia (Scott) Schram and Stephen (Shelly) Simondet. Also survived by his sister Michele (Curt) Schiebel, his sister-in-law Catherine Simondet and his brother-in-law Lawrence Schaefer. Jerry and Marlene were the proud grandparents of 35 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Jerry had graduate degrees from St. Thomas University and the University of Minnesota and served in the Air Force. He was principal of Minneapolis Public Schools, serving Sanford, Phillips, North, and Edison. The Christian Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Risen Saviour, 1501 Co. Rd. 42, Burnsville, MN, at 11 a.m. on March 8, with visitation one hour before Mass. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
