John Aitchison (Scottish John)
Formerly Edinburgh, Scotland.
Peacefully on March 3 surrounded by his loving family at Esker Lodge Nursing Home. Family friends and neighbors are welcome at his sister, Irene and Jim Murdock’s, Friday, March 4, 6-9 p.m.
Strictly private house at all other times please. Thanksgiving and cremation service on Saturday 5th March at 1pm at Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan.
John was deeply loved and will be missed by his mother, sister, brothers and family.
Lord, my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
Mai Duignan (born Walsh)
Corlismore, Ballinagh, Cavan
The death occurred of Mai Duignan (née Walsh), Kiltrasna, Corlismore, Ballinagh, County Cavan, on Wednesday March 2, 2022, suddenly at her home. Predeceased by her husband Francie, her parents James and Margaret and her brothers Packie-Joe and Jim. She is dearly missed by her brothers John, Brian and Aidan, her sister-in-law Philomena, her nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbors and friends.
Rest in peace.
Resting at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Friday evening 5-6.45pm followed by move to Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral mass on Saturday at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Bridget (Bridie) Flaherty (born McAveety)
Polleeney, Furbo, Galway / Belturbet, Cavan
Flaherty, née Mc Aveety, (Polleeney, Furbo, Co. Galway & formerly of Corlough, Belturbet, Co. Cavan), 2 March 2022, Bridget (Bridie), (peacefully) at Áras Chois Fharraige, Nursing Home, Spiddal. Predeceased by her husband Padraig, her parents Frank and Margaret, her brothers John, Hughie and Frank, her sisters Catherine, Maggie, Jane and Maureen and her son-in-law Seán. Much missed by his loving family Martin, Margaret, Padraig, Brian, Richard, Caroline and Adrian, sisters Annie, Rose and Liz, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, Kirsty, Mary and Rose, son-in-law Derrick, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors and a large circle of friends.

Rest in Cillín within the Church of Queen Mary Immaculate, Barna on Friday March 4, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. with collection at 7 p.m. from Realt Na Mara Church, Furbo. Requiem Mass on Saturday March 5 at 11:30 a.m. Interment then at the Realt Na Mara Cemetery, Furbo. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Western Alzheimer.

Ciara Lynch / Ellis, 2 Pairc An Dúin, Cavan, Wednesday March 2, suddenly and tragically. Beloved daughter of Sinead & Paddy and beloved sister of Patrick, Hannah & Jermaine. Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, nanny Kathleen Lynch, uncles, aunts, cousins, all of her extended family and wide circle of friends.
May his sweet soul rest in peace
Rest at her place in Pairc An Dúin on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Private home for friends and family at all other times please. Ciara’s remains will leave her home at 11.30am on Saturday morning, traveling via Wolfe Tone St (Barrack Hill), arriving at the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim, Cavan, for the funeral mass at 12pm. Interment will follow at St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Killygarry.

Dr. John Eakin HANNA
Malahide, Dublin / Carrickmacross, Monaghan
Dr John Eakin Hanna (Malahide, Co. Dublin and formerly of Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan) – March 3, 2022, peacefully at home, aged 100, surrounded by family and friends. Husband of the late Peggy, he will be greatly missed by children Nancy, Joyce and David, grandchildren Claire, Graeme, Anna and Ella, sons-in-law Amar and Pete, friends Danuta, Ivan, Carol, Adriana, Angelika, faithful dog soldier, and many others. A tall, dignified man, so easy to love.
A service of thanksgiving for the life of John will be held on Saturday March 5 at noon at Corvalley Presbyterian Church, Carrickmacross, followed by a burial at Carrickmaclim Cemetery.
Ann McGuirk (born Maguire)
Drumlaney, Newbliss, Monaghan
The death occurred of Ann McGuirk, née Maguire, Drumlaney, Newbliss, Co. Monaghan. Ann passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 3, surrounded by her daughter Ann. Predeceased by her son Jim, her sister Betty (Smith) and her brothers Michael, John, Philip and Ben on Sunday March 27th. Beloved mother of Teresa (John O’Connor, Clones), Eugene (Paula, Latton), Deirdre (Gabie, O’Neill, Clones), Philip (Nancy, Meath) and Ann (Drumlaney). Ann will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, Niall, Ryan, Cian, Aidan, Grainne, Tiarnan, Connor and Cormac, great-grandsons, Kia and Noah, sister Alice (Lambe, Scotstown) nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved Ann.

Ann will be resting at the family home among her family with a move on Saturday morning, March 5, to St Laobhin’s Chapel, Killeevan for the 10.30am funeral mass. Burial then in the adjoining cemetery.

Ethna Murnane, 17 Main Street, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan died on March 3, 2022.
Ethna passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Peadar. Cherished and adored mother of Mairéad (George White), Peter (Corona), Joseph (Holly), Catherine (Davy McGregor), Áine (Peter McGuirk), Eithne (Eamonn Hughes, deceased), Michéal (Dorota), Pauline (PJ Martin ).
Ethna will be forever missed and remembered by her daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and wonderful friends.

Beloved Ethna will rest at the family home today, Thursday, March 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. Pick up Saturday afternoon at 1.30pm to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballybay for a Thanksgiving Mass at 2pm.
Burial then in the adjoining cemetery.
