Maryland State Police soldier injured after being struck in Charles County – CBS Baltimore
WALDORF, MD (WJZ) – Maryland State Police said a soldier was injured Friday night after being struck as he left the scene of a traffic stop in Charles County.
A preliminary investigation reveals around 10 p.m. On Friday evening, a soldier from La Plata barracks was conducting a traffic check with his hazard lights turned on on the southbound Crain highway at Holly Lane in Waldorf.

As the soldier attempted to leave the scene in his marked patrol vehicle, he was struck by a Jeep Cherokee driven by Demetrius Jequayle Bradford, 29, of Capital Heights, Md.
Bradford and the Trooper were both taken by ambulance to Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The soldier was treated for his injuries and later released.

The investigation is still ongoing, but Maryland State Police said charges were being laid against the driver of the jeep pending the outcome of the investigation.
