An ISWAP collaborator in the army kills himself after his arrest
A soldier who was arrested for collaborating with ISWAP terrorists committed suicide while being escorted to barracks.
PRNigeria has learned that the soldier with one of the Nigerian Army battalions in the North East was discovered by military intelligence agents for his involvement in the recent attacks on brothels and breweries.
“He was involved in the recent attacks in Geidam and Gashua communities in Yobe State.
The soldier, L/Cpl Jibrin, an instructor from his army battalion in Geidam, who has been missing for about 2 days, was however seen among the ISWAP terrorists, who attacked Geidam last Sunday.
The battalion commander tracked his phone and he was located in Gashua, hundreds of miles from his supposed duty station. The army authorities in Gashua were informed and the soldiers deployed their nets.
On Tuesday morning, L/Cpl Jibrin boarded a bus to Gombe and disguised himself, but was identified and arrested at the Gashua checkpoint.
He was handcuffed and during his interrogation he revealed so many things.

While in transit to Geidam, Jibrin used his skills as a weapons instructor, snatched a gun from one of his escorts, supercharged the other, and blew himself up. His revelations, however, led to the arrest of some of his terrorist brothers, many of whom are believed to be among the troops of the Gombe and Geidam battalions.
“He was apprehended while trying to escape after learning that his movements and activities with terrorists had been discovered by intelligence services.
“After being handcuffed, he skillfully snatched a gun from one of the escorts and committed suicide.
“In the meantime, an investigation is underway to catch other suspects within the service.” the source told PRNigeria.
