18-year-old Lee County student arrested for bringing knife to school


A student at the Royal Palm Exceptional Center in the Lee County School District was arrested for bringing a knife to campus according to the district.

The Fort Myers Police Department said the student “was arrested this morning following an incident earlier in the week involving having a knife on school property. had no altercation or injury to anyone.

Additionally, the school said in an email to parents:

Hello Royal Palm families,

In the interest of open communication, I would like to inform you that a student was arrested for bringing a knife to campus earlier this week. At no time were students threatened by this student.

In addition to the legal consequences, we do not tolerate this kind of behavior at the Royal Palm Exceptional Center. I would like to thank the parent who reported this problem to us.
